The Memphis Grizzlies All-Star forward Jaren Jackson suffered a turf toe injury on his right foot, which will require a procedure to repair, the team announced Tuesday.
According to the Grizzlies, while participating in a live basketball run offsite, Jackson Jr. sustained the injury.
An update and preliminary timeline will be provided following the procedure, but Jackson Jr. is expected to make a full recovery, according to the team.
The 25-year-old Jackson, who recently inked a five-year, $240 million max contract extension with the Grizzlies, has been a key player for the team. Last season, in 74 games, the seven-year veteran, who won Defensive Player of the Year, averaged an impressive 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per contest.
