Hawks’ Bey out for season with torn left ACL

Hawks forward Saddiq Bey will miss the remainder of the season after an MRI revealed that he tore his left ACL, the team announced on Monday.

Bey left the game in the fourth quarter when he hyperextended his left knee in the team’s loss to the Pelicans on Sunday.

The 24-year-old will have surgery at a later date, according to the team.

Atlanta is already without its leading scorer, All-Star Trae Young(hand), and now they will be without Bey.

This season, in 63 games, Bey, who will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season, is averaging 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest.

The Hawks (29-35) get back at it on Wednesday when they start a five-game West Coast road trip in Portland against the Blazers.
