Report: Saquon Barkley to Eagles on three-year deal

Saquon Barkley is going home!

According to Adam Schefter, Barkley reached an agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles on a three-year, $37.75 million contract that could be worth up to $46.75 million and includes $26M fully guaranteed at signing.

The 27-year-old Barkley will make a maximum average-per-year salary of $15.8 million, which would be the second highest for a running back in NFL History, according to Schefter.

The Giants and Barkley could not come together on an extension last season, and now the two-time Pro Bowler goes to the rival Eagles.

Barkley is from Whitehall, Pennsylvania, an hour outside of Philadelphia, so he has an opportunity to play close to home and win with the Eagles.

Last season, the six-year veteran rushed for 962 yards and six touchdowns. In addition, he had 41 receptions for 280 yards and four more touchdowns.

The Eagles don’t usually invest this much money in the running back spot, but Barkley appears worth it. He will play behind a great offensive line in Philly, and he will have a lot of weapons around him.

Huff goes down the turnpike

The Eagles have signed former Jets DE Bryce Huff.

According to Schefter, Huff will sign a three-year, $51.1 million deal with the Eagles.

The deal will make Huff the highest-paid non-QB undrafted free agent in NFL history, according to Schefter.

The Eagles have reportedly been looking to move DE Josh Sweat and LB Haason Reddick. With the addition of the 25-year-old Huff, one or even both could be on the move.

Last season, Huff, who joined the Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2020, had a career-high ten sacks.

The four-year veteran is young and appears to be an ascending player; this is another good deal for Philadelphia.

All deals will be official on March 13 at 4 p.m. Eastern time.
