Erickson Lubin on Charlo fight: ‘I definitely want to make that statement and get a knockout’

Erickson Lubin has a big opportunity in front of him. An opportunity to win a belt, an opportunity to make a statement, and an opportunity to show the world that he one of the best in the junior middleweight division.

In order to do that, Lubin (18-0, 13 KOs) must beat the undefeated and WBC junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo (29-0, 14 KOs) on October 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Lubin discussed his upcoming fight with Charlo during a conference call this week:

“Well, anything can happen. I’m definitely preparing myself for a knockout. I want to get the knockout and make a big statement winning my first world title,” Lubin said. “But I can definitely go 12 rounds. I already been ten rounds before. I’m definitely ready. I trained for it. Ever since I came into the pro game, I believed in myself and my team believed in me. And I said that I was a 12-round fighter ever since I got into the pro boxing game. So I’m definitely ready to go 12 rounds and I definitely want to make that statement and get a knockout.”
