Actor Jay Hunter(Ian) loves the fans of ‘If Loving You Is Wrong’

Actor Jay Hunter is a newcomer to Tyler Perry’s hit show “If Loving You Is Wrong.” Hunter, who plays the character, Ian, has received a lot of attention from the show’s fans last season. Hunter loves the fans, and appreciates the support:

“Big shout out to the fans, man. We love you. If it wasn’t for the fans, obviously we wouldn’t have a show,” Hunter told Paul Gant. “So, the fact that they get all into it, man, we really appreciate it, man. And it’s kind of gives us a nice gauge, too. Because the fans, that’s our audience, they’re the ones that kind of keep us in check. They see certain things coming, or whatever. You know people like to chime in on social media and stuff like that. And let us know what they’re thinking, and we appreciate it.”

Tyler Perry and “If Loving You Is Wrong” have a lot of fans, and according to Hunter, some are very serious about the show:

“Put it like this; there’s certain fans that you would swear that lived on the block right behind the block that we all live on; on the show. But, you know, in a way, it’s kind of good. That means they’re really getting into the show,” Hunter said. “That says something about the cast and Tyler Perry putting it all together, and keeping it interesting to where the fans want to be apart of it. They want to feel like they live down the street from everybody, and around the corner.”

Hunter will have a prominent role in the next season of “If Loving You Is Wrong,” which is set to debut on Wednesday, January 10, on OWN. Will Hunter’s character, Ian, have any drama this season? Hunter did not say, but you get the sense his character might be involved in something:

“Listen, I can’t really say anything about that. I don’t think so. I like to say if I(Ian) did get dirty it would be an accident,” Hunter explained. “It would be misguided. Ian, he’s the type of guy that will try to do the right thing, for now anyway. Maybe if you rub him the wrong way I(Ian) can get dirty if need to. I’m(Ian) trying to do the right thing, so far.”

Check out Hunter on “If Loving You Is Wrong” on its new night and time Wednesday at 10PMET on OWN.

Actor Denzel Wells on playing Travis from ILYIW: ‘It’s way more fun playing crazy’

Actor Denzel Wells is enjoying playing the role of a psycho. Wells, who plays the psycho Travis in Tyler Perry’s “If Loving You is Wrong,” is getting a lot of love from the fans:

“I was doing a play last weekend, and after the show, we had the meet and greet and everything like that. Literally, everybody was like ‘Travis, ooh, I don’t like you. ooh, I hate you!  You get on my nerves! Can I have a picture? Can we take a picture? Can I get an autograph?’ The best part is the fellas who come up,” Wells told the “Go4it” podcast hosted by Paul Gant. “The wives always make them watch it. They be like ‘man, you, dude you crazy man. It’s something about you. You might be like that in real life.’ I’m like okay. I must be doing a decent job at it.”

Wells has noticed the difference from the fans since his character went from nice to crazy:

“Just doing everyday stuff and going out and moving. People stopping you and recognizing you. Giving you your validation,” Wells said. “So, it’s definitely shot up more than when I was playing that nice, soft guy a couple of seasons ago. That’s for sure!  It’s way more fun playing crazy!”

It should be interesting to see if Denzel Wells’ character Travis will be back next season. In the season finale, his character was shot by the woman he had been stalking. Does he survive?

I guess we will find out next season!

“If Loving You is Wrong” Kerry Rhodes(Officer Rick) discusses near fight because of his character(LISTEN)

Former NFL star turned actor Kerry Rhodes is making a name for himself in Hollywood. Rhodes, who last played in the NFL in 2012, plays Officer Rick on Tyler Perry’s hit show “If Loving You is Wrong.”

The ex-football player is getting recognized by fans for his role as Officer Rick.

Rhodes tells a great story to the Go4it podcast hosted by Paul Gant about how being Officer Rick almost got him into a fight.

“Funny story, I almost got into a little shouting match with some guy,” Rhodes said. “Dude was like, ‘Man, you a cop ain’t you? You that cop.’ I was like, ‘Do I look like a cop to you?’ I wasn’t catching the reference, so I was like, ‘What are you saying?’ He was like, ‘You look like a cop.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know what you are talking about?’ He was like, ‘a cop from the show.’ I was like, ‘Oh, I was about to fight you, man. You better be correct with that.’ It’s been fun to get the recognition from that for sure.”

Make sure you check out Rhodes on “If Loving You is Wrong” on OWN, and his new movie ‘Tragedy Girls” in theaters now!
