San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, Carolina Panthers linebacker Devin Lloyd and Minnesota Vikings cornerback Isaiah Rodgers are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 2, the league announced Wednesday.
OFFENSE:
-Purdy completed 20 of 22 pass attempts (90.9 percent) for 287 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown in San Francisco’s 35-13 win against Miami. He became the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his pass attempts, pass for at least 285 yards and two touchdowns, and have a rushing touchdown in the same game.
-This is Purdy’s third career Offensive Player of the Week award.
DEFENSE:
-Lloyd had nine tackles, three passes defensed, two tackles for loss, a sack, and two interceptions, including a 16-yard interception return for a touchdown in Carolina’s 34-3 win at Atlanta. He became the fifth linebacker since 1982 to record a sack, two interceptions, and a defensive touchdown in the same game.
-This is Lloyd’s second career Defensive Player of the Week award (Week 4, 2025 with Jacksonville) and first with Carolina. He becomes the eighth Panthers linebacker to win the award and the first since Frankie Luvu (Week 8, 2023).
SPECIAL TEAMS:
-Rodgers blocked a field goal attempt to keep the Vikings ahead 6-3 late in the fourth quarter in Minnesota’s 9-3 win at Chicago.
-This is Rodgers’ second career Player of the Week award (Defense, Week 3, 2025), and he is the first defensive back to win Special Teams Player of the Week for the Vikings.
