On Sunday at London’s Olympia, “Sweet” Caroline Dubois (13-0-1, 5 KOs) defeated three-division champion Terri “Belter” Harper (16-3-2, 6 KOs) by unanimous decision to become the new unified WBO and WBC lightweight world champion in a 10-round bout.

The three judges scored the fight 98-91, 97-92, and 98-91 all for Dubois.

The 25-year-old Dubois dropped Harper in the sixth round and cruised to victory. Dubois gave credit to the 29-year-old Harper following the win.

“She’s smart, you know, and she’s experienced,” Dubois said. “She knows how to get through a fight. She knows how to box. I guess their tactics was to stay away and try and counter.”

After the fight, MVP head Nakisa Bidarian would like to see Dubois fight legend Katie Taylor.

“My dream scenario is for Caroline [Dubois] to be the last dance partner of Katie Taylor,” Bidarian said. “The goat Chantelle Cameron just walked in, and I know Katie Taylor won’t take that fight, but maybe Katie Taylor seizes an opportunity to pass the baton. Not pass it, but give Caroline the opportunity to take the baton from her. And I think that would be a massive fight at Croke Park.”

Dubois says she has time for Taylor.

“I got a lot of time for Katie,” Dubois said. “I think she’s a legend. If she said Caroline Dubois, let’s do this, you know. If she wants to test herself against me, I would jump at the opportunity. Who wouldn’t?”

One fight Dubois is definitely interested in is a bout with unified 130-pound champion Alycia Baumgardner.

“I’m interested in Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner,” she said. “And I think we’ll be able to see who truly is the best. And I believe it’s me. That’s the fight I want by the end of the year. There’s no need to waste time. There’s no need to mess around…

“The biggest fight in women’s boxing. I want Alycia. I want her next.”
