Cavs’ Strus getting closer to return

On Tuesday, the Cavaliers gave an update on guard/forward Max Strus.

According to the team, Strus continues his recovery following offseason surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his left foot, and recent imaging has shown progressive healing. He has progressed to individual on-court workouts as part of a structured ramp-up program.

The program will include controlled team activities and practice sessions with both the Cavaliers and the Cleveland Charge(G League affiliate), and he will continue his rehabilitation and conditioning under the supervision of the Cavaliers’ medical and performance staff, with ongoing evaluation, according to the Cavs.

The 29-year-old Strus, who has not played in a game this season, underwent foot surgery in August after injuring his foot in an offseason workout. At the time, he was expected to miss three to four months.

Last season, in 50 games, the seven-year veteran averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per contest.

The Cavs return to action on Tuesday night when they host the Detroit Pistons.
