76ers give Barlow standard NBA deal

You knew it was going to happen sooner or later, and on Thursday night, the Philadelphia 76ers announced that they have signed Dominick Barlow to a standard NBA contract.

According to reports, it’s a two-year deal, with a team option after the 2026-27 season.

The 22-year-old signed a two-way contract with the team in the summer.

In 40 games this season, Barlow is averaging 8.4 points on 55.0 percent shooting, 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.0 steals.

Barlow, who has scored in double figures 17 times this season, had a career-high 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting, to go along with a career-high ten offensive rebounds (16 total, season-high) against the Clippers on Monday.

He originally signed a two-way contract with San Antonio as an undrafted free agent on July 10, 2022, and has spent three NBA seasons with the Spurs, Hawks, and 76ers.

Barlow has been a good addition to the 76ers, and with Paul George suspended, he will continue to get opportunities to contribute.

Gordon goes to Memphis:

Before the trade deadline, the 76ers traded veteran guard Eric Gordon and the right to swap second-round picks in 2032 to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for the draft rights to Justinian Jessup.

The 18-year NBA veteran appeared in 45 games (13 starts) for Philadelphia in two seasons, averaging 6.6 points on 42.4-percent shooting from three (44.0 FG%), 1.5 assists, and 1.1 rebounds.

This move was a salary dump by the 76ers. The 37-year-old Gordon, who made $3.6 million this season, had a limited role with the team.
