The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired Zac Robinson as its offensive coordinator, the team announced Thursday.
Robinson, who will replace the fired OC Josh Grizzard, has enjoyed a quick rise through the coaching ranks since beginning his career with the Los Angeles Rams, ascending from assistant quarterbacks coach (2019, 2021) and assistant wide receivers coach (2020) to quarterbacks coach/pass game coordinator (2022-23). He earned his first offensive coordinator opportunity with the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 where he remained for two seasons before joining Tampa Bay.
“We are excited to welcome Zac Robinson as our next offensive coordinator,” said Head Coach Todd Bowles in a statement. “Zac is one of the bright offensive minds in our game, and during the interview process, I was very impressed with his plan for getting the most out of the talent we have on that side of the ball. He has a very good understanding of the strengths of our top offensive players from his time in the division the past two years and I am very confident in his ability to teach and develop our young players.”
Over his two seasons as offensive coordinator in Atlanta, Robinson’s unit ranked among the top 10 in a number of key offensive categories, including: yards per game (351.4 – ninth), yards per play (5.6 – 10th), rushing yards per game (128.1 – eighth), yards per rush (4.5 – ninth), passing yards per game (223.3 – ninth), pass yards per attempt (6.9 – ninth), fewest sacks per pass attempt (5.3% – third) and first downs per game (20.3 – 10th).
Robinson coached a group that finished fifth in the NFL in explosive plays (135) in 2024 and eighth (247) over the last two seasons combined. His team did so behind an offensive line unit that surrendered the fourth-fewest sacks in 2025 (26), and the fifth-fewest over the last two years (58). He coached guard Chris Lindstrom and running back Bijan Robinson each to back-to-back Pro Bowl selections from 2024-25.
