Hurts bounces back; Eagles rout Raiders at Linc

The Philadelphia Eagles (9-5) snapped their three-game losing streak after routing the Las Vegas Raiders (2-12) 31-0 at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate Philly’s ‘Big 3’ and their outstanding performances on Sunday:

-After having five turnovers, including four interceptions in the loss to the Chargers last Monday, Jalen Hurts was big-time against the Raiders. Hurts completed 12-of-15 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns. Hurts also added 39 yards on the ground. In addition, he became the first quarterback in Eagles history to record multiple games with a 150-plus passer rating (154.9) and 80-plus completion percentage (80.0%) in the same season.

-Dallas Goedert was very productive on Sunday. He had six receptions for 70 yards and two touchdowns. This was Goedert’s first touchdown since October, and he has a career-high nine touchdowns this season. He should have had three touchdowns, as he dropped a sure touchdown in the first half.

-Defense: The Eagles’ defense was dominant. They held the Raiders to 75 total yards, marking the fewest yards allowed by an NFL team since Cleveland on 11/5/23 vs. Arizona (58 yards). The Raiders’ 75 total yards were the fewest surrendered by an Eagles defense since 12/4/55

Philadelphia also had four sacks and an interception. The Raiders couldn’t do anything against this defense.

Honorable Mention:

-Brandon Graham had his first two sacks of the season against Las Vegas. He (37 years-255 days) became the oldest player in Eagles history to register a sack in a game

End of the Day:

The Eagles got right against a bad football team and, for the first time this season, were dominant from start to finish.

Hurts was solid, everybody got involved on offense, the running game was effective(183 yards on 47 carries and a touchdown), and the defense handled their business.

At this point, with three games remaining(@WSH, @Buf, WSH), it’s all about the Eagles trying to get right.

Yes, the Cowboys could still catch them, but barring anything unforeseen, Philadelphia should win the NFC East. More than likely, they’ll be the third seed in the NFC playoffs, which will give them at least one home playoff game.

When right, Philadelphia can beat any team, anywhere in the NFC, so if they are at their best, the Eagles can get back to the Super Bowl, but again, they have to be at their best.

One More thing…
