Schofield withdraws from fight with Diaz due to wrist injury

On Sunday, Golden Boy Promotions announced that Floyd Schofield(19-0, 13 KOs)  has withdrawn from his fight against JoJo Diaz(34-8-1, 15 KOs) due to a wrist injury. 

No word if the fight will be rescheduled.

Schofield, who defeated Tevin Farmer by first-round knockout in June, was scheduled to fight Diaz on November 8 on the undercard of Vergil Ortiz-Erickson Lubin. 

Here’s a statement from Golden Boy Promotions on Schofield’s injury:

“On Thursday, October 23, Floyd Schofield Jr. sustained a Grade 2 sprain to his right wrist, which included minor ligament damage. Following medical evaluation and on the advice of his team, Schofield has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout against Joseph “JoJo” Diaz on Saturday, November 8. Golden Boy wishes him a full and speedy recovery.”
