Howard, Stephenson get ejected in their BIG3 debuts

It was a momentous occasion as the legendary Dwight Howard, a Hall of Famer, stepped onto the Big3 court for the first time on Saturday. He represented the L.A. Riot(0-1) in a fierce battle against Miami 305(1-0) at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ilinois, in Week 1 of the Big3 season.

Unfortunately, Howard did not finish the game.

The eight-time All-Star got tangled up with former NBA player Lance Stephenson in the second half, who was also making his Big3 debut, and the two would fall into the crowd.

In a surprising turn of events, both Howard and Stephenson were ejected from the game.

The 39-year-old Howard would finish with 10 points and seven rebounds, while the 34-year-old Stephenson ended with 16 points, and Miami 305 would get the win 50-44.

Miami’s Michael Beasley led all scorers with 21 points.

The game was a thrilling display of competitive basketball, and it was a joy to see Howard and Stephenson back in action, which should make for an exciting Big3 season.
