After a triumphant regular season, where they secured the best record in the Eastern Conference with a remarkable 64-18 finish, the Cleveland Cavaliers unfortunately ended their season in a disappointing manner, falling to the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the playoffs.
One of the key factors that led to the Cavs’ elimination in the second round was the series of injuries, particularly the one that befell All-Star guard Darius Garland. His absence in the first two games of the second-round series against Indiana, and his limited mobility in the three games he played, significantly affected the team’s performance.
On Monday, the Cavs announced that Darius Garland underwent successful surgery today to repair his great(Big) toe injury,
According to the team, the 25-year-old Garland’s status will be updated as appropriate, following a progression of treatment and rehabilitation in approximately 4-5 months. He is expected to make a full recovery and resume basketball activities by the start of training camp.
Last season, the six-year veteran averaged 20.6 points on a career-high 47% shooting and 6.7 assists per contest.
