Grizzlies’ Clarke out for season(knee)

Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Brandon Clarke will miss the rest of the season with a high-grade PCL sprain in his right knee, the team announced Saturday.

According to the Grizzlies, further updates will be provided after a treatment plan and timeline are set.

Clarke, 28, who tore his Achilles tendon in the 2022-23 season, sustained the injury during a fall to the floor in the first quarter of the Grizzlies’ game against the Portland Trail Blazers on March 19.

The five-year veteran, who the Grizzlies selected in the first round of the NBA draft in 2019, signed a four-year, $52 million contract with the team in 2022.

This season, Clarke averaged 8.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest in 64 games with the Grizzlies.

Memphis(43-28), which has lost three straight, will continue its five-game road trip on Tuesday when it plays the Utah Jazz.
