Vikings re-sign RB Aaron Jones

The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed RB Aaron Jones, the team announced on Sunday.

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it’s a two-year, $20 million deal with $13 million guaranteed.

Jones, 30, is returning for a second season with the team. He spent the first seven seasons of his career in Green Bay before signing with the Vikings last offseason. Last season, Jones set career highs in rushing attempts (255) and rushing yards (1,138), becoming just the third player in franchise history to reach 1,000 rushing yards in his first season with the team.

It marked his fourth career season rushing for at least 1,000 yards.

In his first eight career NFL seasons (2017-24), Jones started 102 of the 114 regular season games he played and tallied 7,078 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns on 1,432 carries, adding 2,484 receiving yards and 20 scores on 323 receptions.

He started each of the eight postseason games he appeared in, rushing for 559 yards and seven touchdowns on 117 attempts. Among running backs with at least 1,000 career carries.

Jones had a tremendous season for the Vikings in 2024, which was a big reason why the team won 14 games last season.
