Jalen Hurts silences the critics one more time, wins Super Bowl LIX MVP

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts received a lot of hate from a lot of different people, but he shut up the critics, naysayers, and all the haters after he led the Eagles to a 40-22 victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday.

Hurts, who completed 17 of 22 attempts (77.3 percent) for 221 yards, two touchdowns and 72 rushing yards(most in SB history by QB), and one touchdown on the ground, was named Super Bowl MVP.

He became the first player to lead his team in rushing and passing yards in two Super Bowls and the first player to win against the opposing quarterback he had lost to in a previous Super Bowl.

The narrative was that Saquon Barkley, who rushed for only 57 yards on Sunday, was carrying the Eagles’ offense and that Hurts was along for the ride. However, that narrative was smashed in the NFC title game and Super Bowl 59.

According to Hurts, if the hate leads to championships, keep the hate coming.

“I can’t control what these people think,” Hurts told NFL Network after the win. “If it takes all the hate and the scrutiny, all the different opinions, for me to become a world champion, then keep it coming.”

He became the fifth quarterback ever with multiple touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown in a Super Bowl.  In addition, Hurts, who had 304 passing yards and 70 rushing yards in Super Bowl LVII, is the first quarterback ever with at least 200 passing yards and 50 rushing yards in multiple Super Bowls, and Hurts became the third quarterback with a touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown in multiple Super Bowls.

All Hurts does is win, and he proved that throughout the regular season, the playoffs, and finally in a Super Bowl!
