76ers sign Justin Edwards to standard NBA contract

Philadelphia 76ers undrafted rookie free agent Justin Edwards has taken advantage of all the injuries the team has suffered this season. When given the chance, he has played well for the 76ers, and the team has rewarded him.

On Sunday, the team announced they had signed Justin Edwards to a standard NBA contract.

According to the Inquirer’s Keith Pompey, the contract is for the remainder of the season with a team option for the 2025-26 season, and both sides are interested in exploring a longer-term deal in the offseason.

After signing a two-way contract in July, the 21-year-old Edwards has appeared in 22 games for the 76ers, averaging 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. He has scored in double figures eight times this season – seven of which have come over the last 14 contests.

The Philadelphia native has started each of the team’s last seven games, averaging 10.3 points on 48 percent shooting (42.9% 3FG), 3.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.0 steals in 31.5 minutes per contest.

Prior to the NBA, Edwards spent one season at the University of Kentucky.
