Hawks’ Johnson to miss rest of season with shoulder injury

Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn labrum, the team announced Wednesday.

Johnson, 23, sustained the injury on Jan. 23 in Atlanta’s loss to Toronto.

According to the team, he is scheduled to undergo surgery next week and is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the 2025-26 season.

This season, Johnson, who agreed to a five–year, $150 million contract extension in October, averaged 18.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists.

The Hawks (22-25), who have lost six straight, return to action on Thursday when they travel to Cleveland to face the Cavs.
