Blazers sign Bouknight to Exhibit-10 deal

The Portland Trail Blazers have signed guard James Bouknight to an Exhibit-10 contract, the team announced Tuesday.

According to reports, the Blazers are expected to waive Bouknight; the signing will allow Portland to have his G League rights.

Exhibit 10 deals are one-year, non-guaranteed contracts making the league minimum. The contract can be converted to a two-way deal, but this conversion must be done before the regular season.

Last season, the former 11th overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft averaged 3.6 points per game and shot a career-high 43% from three.

In three seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, the 23-year-old Bouknight accrued career averages of 4.8 points (33.5% 3-PT, 76.2% FT), 1.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 11.4 minutes per game in 79 career games for the Hornets.
