The San Antonio Spurs have re-signed center Charles Bassey, the team announced on Wednesday.
According to Shams Charania, it’s a fully guaranteed one-year, $2.2 million contract.
Earlier this month, the Spurs waived Bassey but decided to bring him back.
In two seasons with the Spurs, the 23-year-old has averaged 4.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over 54 total games.
Last season, due to injury(torn left ACL), the third-year center, who played one season with the 76ers, played in only 19 games for San Antonio and averaged 3.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest.
Originally signing a two-way contract with San Antonio on Oct. 24, 2022, he was converted to a standard NBA deal on Feb. 14, 2023.
Bassey is a young center who has shown the ability to be a factor on the defensive end.
