Mavs guard Kyrie Irving has undergone surgery to repair a broken left hand, the team announced on Monday.
According to the Mavs, Irving sustained the injury earlier this month while training. Further medical updates on his status will be provided as appropriate.
Last season, the 32-year-old averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per contest. In addition, the 13-year veteran helped lead the Mavs to the NBA Finals, where they would lose to the Celtics in 5.
Hopefully, this injury won’t be an issue for the Mavs and Irving when the season begins in October.
