On Monday, the Atlanta Hawks announced that guard Trae Young, who sustained a left fifth finger torn ligament on Feb. 23 against the Toronto Raptors and underwent surgery on Feb. 27., had his six-week follow-up evaluation and has been cleared for team practice and contact.
The 25-year-old is averaging 26.4 points and 10,8 assists per contest; he’s the Hawks’ best player, and getting him back will be a big boost for Atlanta.
The 10th-seeded Hawks (36-42), who have clinched a spot in the Play-In Tournament, are on a two-game losing streak. Before the losing streak, the Hawks had played well and won six of their last seven.
The Hawks return to action on Tuesday night when they host the Miami Heat.
