Trae Young to miss at least four weeks with hand injury

On Sunday, the Atlanta Hawks announced that All-Star guard Trae Young has a tear of the radial collateral ligament (RCL) in the fifth(pinky) finger of his left hand.

According to the team, he underwent an MRI on Saturday, which revealed the injury; he will undergo surgery to repair the RCL on Tuesday and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Young suffered the injury during Friday’s 123-121 loss against Toronto.

This season, Young is averaging 26.4 points and 10.8 assists per contest.

The Hawks (24-32) are currently the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference.  Atlanta hosts the Magic on Sunday night.
