San Antonio Spurs center Charles Bassey is out for the season after an MRI revealed that he tore his left ACL.
The injury occurred in Sunday’s Austin Spurs at Texas Legends game in Dallas while Bassey was on assignment with Austin.
This season, the 23-year-old backup center averages 3.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per contest.
Bassey originally joined the Spurs on a two-way contract in the 2022-23, which ultimately was turned into a standard NBA contract.
San Antonio, who has lost 17 straight games, will host the Lakers for two consecutive games starting Wednesday night.
