Broner: ‘I want the WBA belt, the WBC belt, the WBO belt, and the IBF belt too’

Adrien Broner is back!

He returned on Friday night after being out of the ring for 28 months. Broner(35-4-1, 24 KOs) had no issues with his opponent, William Hutchinson(20-3-4, 9 KOs), who he dominated for ten rounds as he cruised to a unanimous decision win at Casino Miami in Miami, Florida.

Fighting at 147 pounds, the 33-year-old, who is now with legendary promoter Don King, got a much-needed win, much-needed rounds, and of course, he still got his swagger.

“It was everything I wanted, but it wasn’t everything I needed,” he said after the win. “This was my first time on Don King pay-per-view, so anyone CAN get it – AfriCAN, AmeriCAN, DominiCAN – no disrespect to no live form out there, but an attorney just got it. Anybody can get it.”

The four-division world champion hopes to challenge some of the belt holders at 140 pounds, and he called them all out after the win.

“Anybody with a title – I see; what’s his name? Romello? Rolly?” Broner said. “I like the winner of Teofimo and Josh Taylor and whoever has a belt. I want all the belts. I don’t want just a Louie belt or a Gucci belt; I want the WBA belt, the WBC belt, the WBO belt, and the IBF belt too.”

King referred to a possible fight with Ryan Garcia after his promoter Oscar De La Hoya, tweeted out about it this week.

“Well, you know right now there is this fellow by the name of Oscar De La Hoya,” King said. “He sent out a waiver, and he wants to meet us, so we are going to talk about it.”

Broner added: “Come on over here, and we are going to kick whoever’s ass you want to put in the ring.”

The Cincinnati native will turn 34 in July, so King and company might want to move fast. Broner may not be what he used to be, but his name still resonates with boxing fans. There may be big fights out there for him. For now, the plan should be to get him some more tuneups and then go after a big name.
