Jags sign Elliott Fry, waive K Andrew Mevis

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed K Elliott Fry, the club announced today. Additionally, the team waived K Andrew Mevis.

According to ESPN’s Mike DiRocco, Mevis, who was an undrafted rookie out of West Virginia, missed three field goal attempts during training camp warm-ups, including one that hit former Cowboys head coach Dave Campo.

The 27-year-old Fry has appeared in three NFL games with Atlanta (2020), Kansas City (2021), and Cincinnati (2021) and made five of six field goals and five of seven extra points.

Fry will now compete with kicker Ryan Santoso, who has also reportedly struggled in training camp.

Obviously, Jacksonville wants to ensure their kicking situation is stable before the start of the season, and we’ll see if Santoso or Fry will be the guy going forward.
