Tyson: ‘I just want everybody to know the fight is on with me and Holyfield’

According to the Representatives of former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson’s representatives refused to accept a $25 million guarantee from Team Holyfield to participate in Tyson vs. Holyfield 3 at the Hard Rock Stadium to kick off Memorial Day weekend.

There were multiple other offers conveyed to Team Tyson, according to Holyfield’s management team. However, according to Holyfield’s side, Tyson’s demands recently became untenable and not what Mike Tyson had originally agreed on in direct conversations with the 58-year-old Holyfield.

The 54-year-old Tyson fought an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. back in November under the Triller banner, but according to an Instagram post from Tyson on Monday, he will not do business with Triller going forward.

However, Tyson said on Tuesday that his fight with Holyfield is on for May 29.

“I just want everybody to know the fight is on with me and Holyfield,” Tyson said during an Instagram Live with Haute Living.

“Holyfield’s a humble man I know that and he’s a man of God but I’m God’s man. Listen, I’m going to be successful May 29.”

Tyson and Holyfield last shared the ring together back in 1997. Tyson was disqualified after biting Holyfield’s ears.

We’ll see what happens, but based on the success of Tyson-Jones Jr., the people clearly want to see Tyson-Holyfield 3. We’ll see how this plays out.
