Forgot the 2019 Philadelphia Eagles(3-4), injuries have had a severe impact on this football team. They have been without their deep threat in DeSean Jackson(abdominal) since Week 2. They lost two of their defensive tackles in Malik Jackson(out for the year with foot injury) and Tim Jernigan(foot). Also, they have been without corners Ronald Darby(hamstring), Avonte Maddox(concussion, neck) and Jalen Mills(returned last week against Cowboys), and recently, they lost LB Nigel Bradham(ankle) and OT Jason Peters(knee).
Based on the way this team is currently playing, they need help. Whether it’s because of a lack of talent or whether it’s because of injuries, Philadelphia needs help.
“I think that’s the thing that I think Howie(Roseman) and I are on the same page about,” Pederson said on Wednesday. “He sees the same injuries that we see, and he knows the bind that we’re in at certain positions. He’s constantly, with his team of guys, working to find players that are out there, whether they’re on other team’s practice rosters or with the trade deadline coming up, if it’s through that, whatever it might be.
“Or our practice roster, which we’ve made moves [with] already this season. He’s in tune with all that. We’re in direct communication a lot, especially these past few days in trying to get the best players in here that we can.”
The Eagles are in a tight spot right now, and Eagles GM Howie Roseman will have some work to do. They do need upgrades in a few different positions. They need depth at the defensive tackle position; they need to add talent to the secondary and linebacker positions, and with the uncertainty with Jackson, they may need to add a wide receiver. With all those needs, expect the Eagles to be busy before the October 29th trade deadline.
