Willie Roaf on KC: ‘This team could be one of the most explosive offenses in the history of the NFL’

The Kansas City Chiefs offense has looked unstoppable in 2018, and on Sunday, their QB Patrick Mahomes was spectacular.  Mahomes was 23 of 28 and threw for 326 yards and six touchdowns as the Chiefs beat the Steelers 42-37 in Pittsburgh. Mahomes ended the day with more touchdowns than incompletions, and more importantly, the Chiefs are 2-0.

After two games, the Chiefs are averaging 40 points a contest, and Mahomes has thrown 10 touchdowns passes. Kansas City has a lot of weapons on offense. WR Tyreek Hill is a game breaker, Kareem Hunt is a load at the running back position, and Travis Kelce is one of the better tight ends in football.

Hall of Famer and former Chiefs great Willie Roaf is loving what he sees from this Kansas City offense, and believes this offense could be one the most explosive units in NFL history:

“One of the best, if not the best in Chiefs history,” Roaf recently told the Go4it podcast hosted by Paul Gant. “With the weapons they have on offense, this team could be one of the most explosive offenses in the history of the NFL.”

According to Roaf, Tyreek Hill is a big reason for the Chiefs’ big-play ability on offense:

“The problem with Tyreek Hill, he’s so explosive, he opens up the offense so much,” Roaf said. “Tyreek Hill creates mismatches, and you have to respect him on the field. As long as they can run the ball, and keep them honest, with those guys they got. And we haven’t talked about Sammy Watkins. They got speed everywhere, man.”

The Chiefs have weapons galore. This team is going to put up a lot points in 2018, especially if the 23-year-old Mahomes continues to play at such a high level. Could the Chiefs have most explosive team in league history? That’s saying a lot, but this team is on pace to break the record for most points in a season(606 points by Broncos in 2013) after two weeks.

It’s been two games, but at this point, the Chiefs offense looks like it will be hard to slow down in 2018.
