WBA Light Heavyweight World Champion Dmitry Bivol (13-0, 11 KOs) of Russia hosted a media workout at the Legendz Gym in Norwalk, California as he prepares to battle light heavyweight contender Isaac “Golden Boy” Chilemba (25-5-2, 10 KOs) in the co-main event at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on Saturday, August 4..
In the main event, Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev of Russia will battle Eleider “Storm” Alvarez. The doubleheader will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Bivol and Kovalev will again be on the same card together. The two were on the same card at MSG back in March. If both fighters continue to win, it’s only logical that the two would eventually get in the ring together. While Bivol would like to fight the best at 175, he is not very eager to fight his country mate Kovalev.
“I want to fight the best guys in my division,” Bivol said today at his media workout. “Now, (Sergey) Kovalev is one of the best guys. Of course, I want to fight with him, but I prefer not to fight a guy from the same country as me. Of course, if people like this fight, then I think it will happen. Kovalev wants to fight against the best, like me. It depends on the boxing fans. If they like it, it will happen.”
Being that Bivol is willing to give the fans what they want, expect these two fighters to get it on in the ring sooner than later.
