Former three-division world champion Iran Barkley wants to return to boxing, and according to the 58-year-old, he has been in the gym training for a comeback.
“I know what I can do. I know what I want to do, and God is letting me know what I want to do,” Barkley told goforitradio.com. “Things didn’t happen the way they should of happened, but now it’s gonna happen.”
According to Boxrec.com, Barkley’s last sanctioned fight was back in 1999 when he lost by TKO to Keith McKnight.
Can Barkley do it? Only time will tell, but the odds are always against any fighter in their 50s.
We recently caught up with Barkley at Larry Holmes’ 4th annual Heart of a Legend Celebrity Golf weekend.
