Manny Pacquiao is back! Pacquiao dropped Lucas Matthysse three times and stopped the Argentinian in the seventh round on Saturday night at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With a the victory, Pacquiao wins a version of the WBA welterweight belt.
This was Pacquiao’s(60-7-2, 39 KOs) first stoppage victory since 2009. While Pacquiao looked sharp, Matthysse(39-5, 36 KOs), 35, was terrible on Saturday night. You wonder if we will see him again.
At 39-years-old, Pacquiao still has something left in the tank. How much he has left will be judged against better talent.
ESPN’s Teddy Atlas was impressed with Pacquiao, but wonders how Pacquiao would do against the best at 147.
