Ortiz on Wilder-Joshua: ‘That fight is not going to happen’

In 2018, boxing fans want to see a lot of big fights. Thurman-Spence, Canelo-GGG 2, and of course, Wilder-Joshua.

Both Deontay Wilder(39-0, 38 KOs) and Anthony Joshua have big fights in March. Wilder battles Ortiz on March 3 in Brooklyn, and Joshua fights Joseph Parker in Cardiff on March 31.

While many want to see Wilder-Joshua, Luis Ortiz(28-0, 24 KOs) has other ideas. Ortiz does not think Wilder will get past him on on March 3:

“That fight is not going to happen,” Ortiz said during a conference call on Tuesday.

“Everybody that talks as much as Deontay loses.  Brandon Rios just the other day was talking and talking and talking and talking against Danny Garcia and look what happened. None of this talk bothers me.  He can talk all he wants.  Deontay is trying to convince himself.”

Ortiz is going to be a stiff test for Wilder.  He is the best fighter Wilder has seen to this point of his career, but if Wilder wants Joshua, he must handle his business against Ortiz.
