Former world champion Lucas Matthysse(39-4, 36 KOs) needed eight rounds to stop previously undefeated Tewa Kiram (38-1, 28 KOs) to win a secondary version of the WBA welterweight title on Saturday night at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
In the co-feature, WBA lightweight champion Jorge Linares (44-3, 27 KOs), defeated Mercito Gesta (31-2-2, 17 KOs) by unanimous decision
Both fighters hope to move on to bigger fights in the future.
“I want the rematch with Danny Garcia or [a fight with] Manny Pacquiao, the best. I know I am here for the biggest thing,” Matthyesse said after the fight.
While Linares, has some business to handle at 135. Maybe Mikey Garica, could be Vasyl Lomachenko, or even Robert Easter Jr.
