After dispatching Wladimir Klitschko last April. IBF, IBO, and WBA heavyweight Anthony Joshua showed the world that he is the man to beat in the heavyweight division.
Now, for Joshua to take control of all the belts in the division, he must beat WBC champ Deontay Wilder(39-0, 38 KOs) and WBO champ Joseph Parker(24-0, 18 KOs). According to reports, the fight with Parker is close to done. If Joshua gets by Parker, maybe Wilder could be next.
However, Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum, who is one of Parker’s promoter, believes that Joshua won’t get past Parker.
“Joseph Parker is a Samoan. There’s plenty of good Samoans playing in the NFL. I like the Samoans” Arum told TMZ Sports. “Joshua is a good fighter. My guy Parker is going to beat him.
Arum questions whether Joshua could handle Parker’s power:
“Let him take a punch from my Samoan and then we will see,” Arum said.
In 20 fights, Joshua(20-0, 20 KOs) has been dropped only once in his career, and that was against an all-time great in Klitschko.
We’ll see if Parker has the power to drop Joshua without getting dropped himself.
In the end, it’s the heavyweight division so anything can happen.
