Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather both reportedly made over a $100 million for their fight back in August. Now, it appears that Manny Pacquiao wants a little piece of the action.
Pacquiao, 38, told AFP that he has been in talks with McGregor for a fight in 2018.
How would McGregor fare against Pacquiao?
Former MMA fighter Brendan Schaub believes Pacquiao would be a bad matchup for McGregor:
“I actually think it’s a tougher fight for Conor(McGregor),” Schaub told TMZ Sports. “Pacquiao is more of a pressure fighter, bigger puncher. Floyd Mayweather was the perfect matchup where we could sell that super-fight. This would be tough to sell. It’s gonna sell well pay-per-view, maybe.”
Schaub does not believe the fight will happen, and if did happen, he would favor Pacquiao.
McGregor, 29, could make more money in boxing. Therefore, if he has another opportunity to step into a boxing ring, he probably should do it. However, as UFC head Dana White recently said: “‘Try to get up and get punched in the face for a living when you’ve got $100 million in the bank.”
With all that money in the bank, McGregor might stay out of the ring and Octagon, and just enjoy the fruits of his labor!
