Adrien Broner on Canelo-GGG: ‘Canelo might stop him’

We have waited a long time for RING Magazine Middleweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez and IBO/IBF/WBA/WBC Middleweight World Champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin to step in the ring. The wait is over! September 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV should be a great night of boxing.

While Triple G is the favorite, there are some who believe that Canelo will get it done. Boxer Adrien Broner is one of them. Broner gave his thoughts on Canelo-GGG to “The Breakfast Club” on Power 105.1 in New York City.

“Canelo going to kick his a**. Canelo might stop him. Seriously, he might stop him,” Broner said.  Broner went on to explain why Canelo could stop Golovkin. “I think he got the tools to stop him. He(GGG) ain’t walking through Canelo’s punches like that.”

After his fight against Danny Jacobs, which Broner felt Jacobs won, some believe that the 35-year-old Golovkin may have lost a step. Broner disagrees, and explained what happened with Triple G in his last fight against Jacobs.

“He was fighting people that couldn’t stand it. You not going to knock everybody out. Everybody not going to go down, everybody not going to quit, everybody not going to stop fighting, and he finally ran into somebody who was with the sh** like he was. And I really felt Danny Jacobs won that fight.”

Broner was in New York City to promote his fight with Mikey Garcia on July 29 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
