Deontay Wilder, who is the WBC heavyweight champion, was arrested in Tuscaloosa, Ala on Wednesday. Wilder was charged with second-degree misdemeanor marijuana possession.
According to the Tuscaloosa News, Wilder’s attorney Paul Patterson said the small amount of marijuana didn’t belong to Wilder, and that someone else had used his vehicle while he was out of town,
Police had stopped Wilder because of a window tint violation. The 32-year-old was later released on $1,000 bond, according to the Tuscaloosa News.
