Chiefs release Jeremy Maclin

The Kansas City Chiefs announced today that they have released WR Jeremy Maclin after two seasons with the team. The move saves the Chiefs 10 million in cap space, according to ESPN.

Maclin, 29, led the Chiefs in catches, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions in 2015.

Andy Reid had this to say about Maclin:

“These decisions are never easy, especially with a player like Jeremy who I’ve grown close with on and off the football field over the years. I have a lot of respect for the way he goes about his business and how he handles himself as a professional. I wish him the best of luck moving forward.”
