GGG wins again!

New York– Gennady Golovkin finally fought a full 12 rounds! GGG was put to the test by Danny Jacobs, but prevailed by unanimous decision at a jam-packed Madison Square Garden. The scores were 115-112, 115-112, 114-113 all for the winner GGG. Golovkin was able to drop Jacobs in the fourth round, but Jacobs was able to survive that knockdown.  Jacobs used movement and his jab to make a very competitive fight. “I thought I won the fight by at least two rounds, but this is boxing. Obviously, he’s a bigger draw than me,” Jacobs(32-2, 29 KOs) said after the fight.

For GGG, going 12 rounds was something he felt was good for him. “I needed this. This was my first test over 12 rounds. I need quality fights!” Golovkin(37-0, 33KOs) keeps the WBA, WBC and IBF belts.(IBF belt not on the line because Jacobs missed Saturday morning weigh-in)

The next quality fight for GGG should be Canelo, but it might be WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders. If Canelo gets by Julio Chavez Jr. in May, I would like to see him fight GGG next.

This is boxing, so we shall see!
