New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, Green Bay Packers safety Evan Williams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Chase McLaughlin are the NFC Players of the Month for October, the league announced Thursday.
OFFENSE:
-Nabers totaled 36 receptions for a league-high 509 yards and had two touchdowns in October. His 36 receptions were the second most in the NFL in the month of October and he was the only player to record at least 100 receiving yards in four games.
-This is Nabers’ first career Player of the Month award. He becomes the first Giants wide receiver to earn the honor and the seventh player to earn Offensive Player of the Month, joining Tiki Barber (three-time winner), Kerry Collins (December, 2002), Brandon Jacobs (October, 2007), Eli Manning (November, 2008), David Meggett (September, 1994) and Phil Simms (December, 1986).
DEFENSE:
-Williams totaled 41 tackles, four passes defensed, two interceptions, one sack and one fumble recovery in the month of October. He became the third safety since 2000 to record at least 40 tackles and three takeaways in a single month, joining Rodney Harrison (October, 2003 with New England) and George Wilson (October, 2011 with Buffalo).
-This is Williams’s first Defensive Player of the Month award. He is the third Packers safety to earn the award, joining Atari Bigby (December, 2007) and Xavier McKinney (October, 2024).
SPECIAL TEAMS:
-McLaughlin made all 18 of his kick attempts (seven field goals, 11 point after attempts), including five field goals of 40-or-more yards. McLaughlin was one of two NFC kickers in October to make 100 percent of his kicks on seven-or-more field goal attempts and 10-or-more point after attempts.
-This is McLaughlin’s first Special Teams Player of the Month award. He joins Martin Gramatica (three-time winner) and Matt Bryant (December, 2007) as the only Buccaneers kickers to earn the honor.
