The LA Clippers have signed guard Bradley Beal, the team announced on Thursday.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, it’s a two-year, $13.2 million deal with a player option in year two.
Last July, Beal signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Clippers with a player option for 2026-27, which he opted out of this summer.
The 33-year-old Beal averaged 8.2 points, 1.7 assists and 20.2 minutes in six games (all starts) with the Clippers last season before suffering a season-ending left hip injury on Nov. 8.
The 14-year NBA veteran holds career averages of 21.4 points, 4.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 34.3 minutes in 807 games (758 starts) with Washington, Phoenix and the Clippers. He is a three-time All-Star (2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21) and is one of just 10 active players to reach 17,000 points and 1,700 three-pointers. Selected third overall by Washington in the 2012 draft, Beal was named to the All-NBA Third Team in 2020-21 and the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2012-13.
This deal gives Beal a chance to have a big season and possibly earn a bigger contract next offseason, while the Clippers get a player who, if healthy, can help them win.
