Delaware State-Norfolk State to battle at Lincoln Financial Field on October 31

For the second straight season, MEAC rivals Norfolk State, coached by Michael Vick, and Delaware State, led by DeSean Jackson, will face off at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on October 31, the two universities announced on Tuesday.

Kickoff time and additional game day details will be announced at a later date.

Vick and Jackson were teammates with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009-2013.

Last season, in front of almost 50,000 fans at Lincoln Financial Field, in the first matchup between these two coaches, Jackson’s Delaware State defeated Vick’s Norfolk State 27-20.

Vick, who is looking to improve his team after going 1-11 in 2025, is happy to return to Lincoln Financial Field.

“Coming back to Lincoln Financial Field never gets old for me – this is a place that holds a lot of special memories,” Vick said in a statement. “Last year’s game was a special moment for our program, and to lead our players back onto a field I once called home is something I’ll always cherish. Doing it against Delaware State, led by my former teammate and longtime friend DeSean Jackson, adds another exciting chapter to the matchup. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate the bands, traditions, and pageantry that make HBCU football special.”

Jackson, who led Delaware State to an 8-4 record and a 4-1 record in the MEAC, says playing at the Linc gives his players a big stage to showcase their talents.

“We are not putting any limits on our potential. And we are not resting on that potential either,” Jackson said in a statement. “There is no replacement for hard work. That’s the standard. The game at the Linc just gives our scholar-athletes a bigger stage to do what they do every day.”

It makes perfect sense for this game to be played at Lincoln Financial Field. The MEAC and HBCU football deserve the big stage, and playing at the Linc gives this league the big stage.
