As part of the three-team deal, the Atlanta Hawks have acquired guard/forward Lu Dort from the Oklahoma City Thunder and guard Ryan Nembhard from the Dallas Mavericks as part of a three-team transaction. Forward Zaccharie Risacher and a protected future second-round pick go from the Hawks to the Mavericks, while two future second-round picks go from Atlanta to Oklahoma City, and one second-round pick from Dallas to Oklahoma City, the teams announced on Sunday.
With the move, the Hawks get a very good 3-and-D player in Dort, and he will team with Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, which should make for a very good defensive unit.
The Mavs get an intriguing prospect in Risacher, which will help as they continue to try to improve their roster.
Oklahoma City gets more draft capital, financial flexibility, and maybe more importantly, they stay under the second apron. This offseason, OKC has traded away Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, and Dort. In total, they have moved away over $200 million in salaries and seven second-round picks this offseason.
Last season, the 27-year-old Dort appeared in 69 games during the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 26.8 minutes.
He has spent his first seven NBA seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 11.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.95 steals in 28.9 minutes (.405 FG%, .358 3FG%, .788 FT%), starting 423 of his 432 career regular season games. He is one of only four active undrafted players to tally over 5,000 career points (5,018), 1,500 rebounds (1,648), 400 steals (410) and 150 blocks (177).
Risacher, 21, who was the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, averaged 9.6 points and 3,8 rebounds per contest last season.
Nembhard, 23, who went undrafted coming out of Gonzaga, saw action in 60 games during his rookie campaign with Dallas, averaging 6.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 19.5 minutes of play, leading all rookies in assists per game.
