Eagles to begin regular season at Linc against Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles will begin the 2026 NFL season at home against the Washington Commanders, the NFL announced on Thursday.

Last season, the Eagles won the NFC East for the second consecutive year, and they would lose to the 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field.

Scheduling notes:

The Eagles have five scheduled primetime games for the fifth straight year and could add more through flex scheduling. Philadelphia has appeared in the third-most primetime games (114) in the NFL since 2000.

The Eagles will play on Thanksgiving for the eighth time in franchise history, last doing so in 2015. Overall, Philadelphia is 6-1 on Thanksgiving all-time. The .857 winning percentage on Thanksgiving by the Eagles is the highest of any team who has played at least seven games.

Philadelphia has two Monday night games (one home, one road) for the second consecutive season. Since 2000, the Eagles have played in the most Monday Night Football games (44) in the league.

For the second straight season, Philadelphia will open the regular season at Lincoln Financial Field when they host the Washington Commanders. The Eagles opened the 2025 campaign with a 24-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The last Week 1 meeting between Philadelphia and Washington came in 2019, when the Eagles defeated Washington 32-27.

Although Philadelphia will travel to London for just the club’s third ever international regular-season game, it will be facing Jacksonville for the second time across the pond at Tottenham Stadium. The Eagles previously defeated the Jaguars 24-18 on October 28, 2018, at Wembley Stadium.
