In 2025, the Eagles got very good production from their tight end Dallas Goedert, and they are hoping for the same in 2026.
According to Adam Schefter, the 31-year-old Goedert will return to Philadelphia on a one-year deal worth $7 million, which includes a $4.25 million signing bonus and helps the team avoid a $20 million cap hit.
Goedert, who was the subject of trade talks last offseason, reworked his contract and agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal last season.
The Eagles, and Goedert, who was on the verge of becoming a free agent if the team voided his contract before the start of the league year, continued to work on a new deal as the two sides pushed back the contract’s void date. Ultimately, Goedert and the Eagles came together, and now he’s back with the team in 2026.
The eight-year veteran, who was drafted by the Eagles in the second-round in 2018, had a career year in 2025. He had a career-high 60 catches for 591 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns.
With Goedert’s contract finalized, the Eagles reportedly have enough cap space to explore other moves, including the possibility of trading three-time Pro Bowl WR A.J. Brown.
Goedert was one of Jalen Hurts’ top targets, and his return is a huge win for the Eagles. Philadelphia’s tight end room will be very familiar next season as they also retained Grant Calcaterra on a one-year deal. Additionally, they added former Jaguars tight end Johnny Mundt.
