Hawks give medical update on Kuminga

Atlanta Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga will be out at least another week with a left knee bone bruise, the team announced Wednesday.

According to the Hawks, Kumuniga is progressing in his rehabilitation and will be re-evaluated in approximately one week.

Kuminga, 23, sustained the injury on January 22 against the Mavericks while he was with Golden State.

Before the NBA trade deadline, the Hawks acquired guard Buddy Hield and Kuminga from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for center Kristaps Porzingis.

This season, Kuminga is averaging 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 23.8 minutes per game. In 13 starts, the No. 7 overall pick by the Warriors in 2021 is averaging 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 28.4 minutes. 

The Hawks(26-30) return to action on Thursday night when they travel to Philadelphia to battle the 76ers.
