Cavaliers guard/forward Max Strus recently underwent evaluation and imaging on his left foot following offseason surgery to repair a Jones fracture. The evaluation and imaging revealed positive progress, but additional time is required for the fracture to fully heal, the team announced Tuesday.
Strus will continue to advance in the rehabilitation and conditioning phase of his recovery, along with ongoing medical treatment. He is scheduled for a follow-up evaluation within the next four weeks.
Further updates and his next steps will be determined following that evaluation, according to the team.
The 29-year-old Strus, who has not played in a game this season, underwent foot surgery in August after injuring his foot in an offseason workout. At the time, he was expected to miss three to four months, but now he’ll be out a little longer.
Last season, in 50 games, the seven-year veteran averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per contest.
The Cavs return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to Indiana to battle the Pacers.
