On Saturday, the Memphis Grizzlies guard Ty Jerome is progressing well in his rehabilitation from a high-grade right calf strain that was sustained in the first quarter of the Grizzlies’ preseason game on Oct. 17 at Miami.
According to the team, Jerome, 28, is expected to return to play in 6-9 weeks, and further updates will be provided as appropriate.
The sixth-year veteran signed a three-year, $28 million deal with Memphis in July after spending the last two seasons with the Cavaliers.
Last season, Jerome finished third in the NBA Sixth Man of the Year voting after averaging a career-high 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals in 19.9 minutes across 70 games (three starts).
Memphis will travel to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Saturday night.
